DESCRIPTION

ABB DS203NC B16 A30 – Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overcurrent Protection for Three-Phase Circuits

The ABB DS203NC B16 A30 offers combined residual current and line protection for three-phase circuits. It provides 3-pole protection and 4-pole switching. It reliably trips at 30 mA residual current and 16 A overcurrent. It is also suitable for three-phase appliances such as cooker connections, wallboxes, or sauna heaters.

Your benefits at a glance

  • Two protection functions: residual current device (RCD) protection and line protection in one device – saves space and costs.
  • Personal protection: 30 mA residual current tripping reliably protects against dangerous touch currents.
  • Characteristic B: Perfect for lighting, sockets and household appliances (16 A).
  • Pulse current sensitive (Type A): Detects alternating and pulsating DC fault currents.
  • Compact: Only 4 TE (70.0 mm) on the DIN rail.
  • ABB quality: Tested according to IEC/EN 61009 and approved worldwide.

Protective function and use

As a Type A circuit breaker, the DS203NC B16 A30 detects both sinusoidal AC fault currents and pulsating DC fault currents. This makes it suitable for circuits with modern electronic devices such as LED dimmers or switched-mode power supplies. Its Type B tripping characteristic triggers at 3 to 5 times the rated current. Therefore, this circuit breaker is particularly suitable for lighting, sockets, and typical household appliances.

Assembly and wiring

The DS203NC B16 A30 simply snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail. You then connect the conductors using the screw terminals. Power can be fed in from both the top and bottom. Additionally, you can connect the RCBO (residual current circuit breaker with overload protection) to the ABB PS busbar system. This simplifies wiring when multiple devices are installed in a distribution board.

Standards and approvals

  • IEC/EN 61009-1
  • DIN VDE 0664-20, 0664-21
  • DIN VDE 0100-410
  • DIN VDE 0100-530
  • CE marked
