Protective function and use
Type A residual current devices (RCDs) with short-time delayed tripping (Type G) detect alternating currents and pulsating direct currents. The short-time delay prevents unwanted false tripping due to brief surge currents. Therefore, they are particularly common in Austria, conforming to the ÖVE standard. The rated residual current of 100 mA provides reliable protection against damage and fire. For this reason, they are frequently used as upstream protection in selective installations. Experts also recommend regularly testing the RCD using the test button.

Assembly and wiring
The F204 A-63/0.1 TG simply snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail. You then connect the conductors using the screw terminals. Power can be fed in from both the top and bottom. Additionally, you can connect the residual current device (RCD) to the ABB PS busbar system. This eliminates the need for complex individual wiring. Furthermore, the test button simplifies regular functional testing.
