DESCRIPTION

With the Fronius Wattpilot, every electric car driver can decide how they want to charge their vehicle.

This is particularly advantageous when combined with your own PV system or a variable electricity tariff.

The Fronius Wattpilot is available in two versions – the permanently mounted Wattpilot Home for home use and the mobile Wattpilot Go for on the go.

The device can be operated via the accompanying Solar.Wattpilot app, which also provides an overview of the charging status. The intelligent plug-and-play charging solution has two different charging modes: Eco and Next Trip mode.

Furthermore, the Wattpilot is PV-optimized: The car can therefore be charged in ampere steps with excess solar energy in a particularly cost-efficient and sustainable manner.

Technical data:

  • Maximum charging power: 11 kW
  • Network types: TT / TN / IT
  • Power connection: 5-pin cable
  • Nominal voltage: 230V (single-phase) / 400V (three-phase)
  • Rated current (configurable): 6-16A, 1-phase or 3-phase
  • Mains frequency: 50 Hz
  • Power consumption: 1.9 W (LED off), 4.2 W (LED on)
  • Charging socket: Infrastructure-side Type 2 socket with mechanical locking mechanism
  • Residual current protection device: 20 mA AC, 6 mA DC
  • Conductor cross-section of supply line: min. 2.5 mm²

* Compatible Fronius inverter and Fronius Smart Meter are required
** The Fronius Wattpilot supports the WLAN standards 802.11 b/g/n in the 2.4GHz band with WEP, WPA, WPA2 and WPA3

The advantages at a glance:

  • Dynamic PV surplus charging: With dynamic photovoltaic surplus charging, excess PV power can be used to charge an electric car in amperage increments via 1- or 3-phase switching. This leads to higher self-consumption rates and faster amortization of the PV system.
  • Cost-efficient charging with variable green electricity tariffs: Thanks to variable green electricity tariffs, such as Lumina.Strom from Fronius, electric cars can be charged very cheaply with green electricity from the grid, especially during off-peak hours at night.
  • Two different charging modes: Eco Mode and Next Trip Mode: Depending on customer needs, the electric car can be charged either very economically or optimally tailored to the next trip.
  • Standalone app "Solar.Wattpilot": The Solar.Wattpilot app (iOS and Android) is available for electric car owners to use the Wattpilot. The device can be set up, charging settings configured, and charging progress visualized with just a few clicks.
  • Network connection via Wi-Fi
  • Usable anywhere: With the mobile Wattpilot Go, the electric car can be charged anywhere – whether at home, at work or on vacation.

Security features:

  • RFID access control: Charging can only be started by selected persons with a valid ID chip (RFID).
  • Anti-theft locking mechanism for the charging port.
  • Optional additional cable security for the charging box (padlock not included): The Wattpilot cannot be stolen by simply unplugging it.
  • Residual current protection device with DC current detection: 20mA AC, 6mA DC.
  • Phase and voltage testing of the input voltage prevents damage to the charging unit of the electric car in the event of a missing phase.
  • Auxiliary contact on the relays for testing the switching function (defective relays are detected).
  • Earth detection (can be switched off, "Norway function").
  • Three-phase current sensor for evaluating the charging current.
  • A customer-replaceable fuse for internal electronics prevents damage in case of incorrect connection of the power supply cable.
  • Adapter detection with automatic reduction to 16A (only for Wattpilot Go 22 J).
  • Temperature monitoring: Power is reduced if the temperature gets too high.
