When is a wallbox compliant with German Weights and Measures Act required?

In Germany, you need a charging station compliant with the German Weights and Measures Act, like the go-e Charger PRO CABLE ME 11 kW, as soon as at least two different users charge and are billed for the costs. This applies, for example, to the following situations:

  • Charging in multi-party houses where several residential parties share parking spaces and charging stations
  • Charging a company car at home, provided that at least one other vehicle besides the company car is charged at the wallbox
  • Charging at company locations when employees or guests are charged for charging costs
  • Charging at destinations such as hotels or supermarkets when visitors or customers charge for a fee

Quick installation and commissioning

The go-e Charger PRO CABLE ME 11 kW is compact, lightweight, and can be installed in just a few steps. The electrician first attaches the wall bracket, inserts the power connection cable, and fixes it. Practical: The power cable can be fed from the rear, bottom, or top, making it suitable for almost any location. The charging unit is then plugged in and screwed on – charging is possible without further setup. You can also prepare the wallbox for special application scenarios via the app or the go-e portal. Thanks to the free backend, many charging stations can be set up and managed simultaneously in a very short time.

Convenient go-e Portal

The free go-e Portal not only allows easy setup of multiple charging stations simultaneously. It also offers convenient RFID management and monitoring of status and energy consumption. Furthermore, it provides billing-relevant data per charging station and user and ensures the connection of other systems.

Comfortable handling

With the permanently connected Type 2 charging cable, you can charge almost any electric car common in Europe as well as plug-in hybrids, as these usually have a Type 2 connection. The 6-meter cable adapts flexibly to any parking situation – forward, backward, or sideways. After charging, you can store it safely and space-savingly around the charger. In addition, the high manufacturing quality "Made in Austria" ensures long-lasting and low-maintenance handling. Continuous updates also keep the charging station permanently up to date.

Diverse interfaces for smart charging

In addition to wireless data transmission via WLAN and mobile radio (LTE), the go-e Charger PRO CABLE ME 11 kW also offers wired data exchange via LAN. This enables smart charging and the connection of external systems at any connection point. In addition, the wallbox can be controlled via the digital input and output. Furthermore, various open API interfaces and OCPP enable connection to third-party software such as backend systems, energy management systems, PV surplus, or billing systems.

Charge cost-effectively and sustainably

Intelligent functions such as the charging timer or automatic PV surplus charging help you save costs. The same applies to charging with flexible electricity tariffs, which are already integrated into the go-e app. This not only pays off financially but also relieves the power grid. On the hardware side, the charger is also prepared for V2X functionalities* according to ISO 15118. These include, for example, Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Home (V2H), which are often also known as bidirectional charging*.

Legally compliant billing thanks to MID and compliance with German Weights and Measures Act

The integrated MID-compliant electricity meter, together with compliance with the German Weights and Measures Act, ensures kWh-accurate billing of the charging current. This also applies if no separate power connection with a calibrated meter is available for the charging station. This means that the charging current can be billed or reimbursed in all application situations. Thanks to user identification and authorization, you can clearly assign each charging process to a person. The charged electricity can also be read not only via app or backend but also directly via the LED display on the front.

Scalable through load management

Even without additional hardware, the go-e Charger offers static load management. This allows you to charge multiple vehicles at the same power connection, with prioritization possible for individual charging stations. In addition, you can control an energy management system via the go-e Controller or via OCPP, Modbus TCP, or an open API, which ensures dynamic load management. The charging power is continuously adapted to the available electricity – even including PV surplus. This way, you can build a charging park with hundreds of charging stations without having to fear a power outage. At the same time, you avoid peak loads and reduce costs.

Authorization via RFID or Plug&Charge*

In its delivered state, the charging station allows free charging, but can be switched to authorization. Thanks to the integrated RFID reader, you can authenticate users, release charging processes, and clearly assign them to specific people. A learned RFID chip is already included with the device; additional cards or chips can be added – even for several chargers simultaneously via the go-e backend or other backend systems. You can also use conventional credit cards or existing RFID cards in the company, provided they transmit at 13.56 MHz. In addition, detailed charging data per user is available, and activation via app is also possible. In the future, the ISO 15118 Plug&Charge ready*-standard will enable authorization, activation, and billing completely without RFID or app.
